Children Ministry

Our mission:  To provide ministry that contributes to the faith formation of the children in our care as they grow as disciples of Christ.

Our vision:  Worship, Faith Formation, Mission & Relationship Building

  • To include our children in weekly worship.

  • To provide weekly biblically based education.

  • To provide mission education and mission giving of our time.

  • To provide opportunities for relationship building through both large and small group experiences.

Worship:

Nursery Care is provided for children ages 6 months through four years of age in Room 207. The room is staffed by two caregivers during each worship service.

Children K- 5th Grade are invited to attend weekly worship at either 9:00 or 10:45 a.m.

  • During the school year, the children may exit worship just prior to the sermon to attend a fellowship time with games, songs and snacks.

  • During the summer months, a children’s chat is offered during worship to help students be further engaged in worship.

Faith Formation:

Children K – 5th grade are invited to Sunday School from 10 – 10:30 a.m. in Room 301 or 302.  A bible lesson is presented by one of our highly trained (and background checked) volunteers.  Parents are invited to participate as a helping hand or they may enjoy coffee fellowship time during this time.

Mission:

Second Serving Mission Opportunities are offered on select months of the year.  Families can attend this program from 10 – 10:30 a.m. (no Sunday School on these special Sundays) to hear from one of our WPC mission partners and participate in a hands on opportunity to serve.

Relationship Building:

Fourth & Fifth Grade Fellowship Events such as bowling, volleyball skills camp, ice skating and Sky Zone are offered on a quarterly basis for these students to deepen their relationship with one another and get a taste of what it’s like to be involved in our youth group.

Christmas Eve Pageant:

This wonderful tradition allows our children the opportunity to participate in the story of Christ’s birth as we practice several times throughout the month of December to prepare for a Christmas Eve worship service featuring the pageant.

Easter Egg Hunt:

This fun event happens on Easter morning so that our children (and any of their invited guests) can engage with one another as we celebrate the holiday.

Vacation Bible School:

Held the third week of July, this four day event is a great way for students Kindergarten through Fifth grade to deepen their biblical knowledge while having fun with friends in different workshops such as storytelling, crafts, science and games.
