for “I've God a Secret” which is the title of Pastor Bruce's message.
The worship focus is In Jesus We Find Courage to Be Public Christians.
Scripture references are Psalm 51:1-6 and John 19:38-40.
Other events:
Adult Enrichment at both 9 and 10:30 a.m. on Sunday will focus on the topic Theologians for Beginners. The Gospel According to Peanuts. Leaders are Terry and Nancy Quinn.
Next Sunday, Labor Day Weekend, there will be an adult education speaker at 10:30 in Room 209. Jae Won Lee from the Lutheran School of Theology will discuss Paul and Reconciliation in Romans.
Additional Portrait Sessions will be held on Thursday, September 9, 2:30 - 9 p.m. Make your appointment on line or during Fellowship Hour on Sunday.
WPC's Rally Day and Church Picnic will be held on Sunday, September 12. Rally Day for the fall program kick off will be held at both 9 and 10:30 a.m. The church picnic on the church lawn will be held from 11:30 - 2 p.m. Grilled hot dogs, chips and beverages will be provided. Various ministries will have tables set up and there will be lawn games for all ages.
The Women's Group will meet on Wednesday, September 1, at 11 a.m. for Bible study and lunch. All women are invited. Bring a sack lunch.
A New Member Gathering will be held on Sunday, September 12, 2 - 4 p.m. in Room 209.
The Cancer Support Groups meets on the 2nd Wednesday of each month in Room 101. The next meeting will be held on Wednesday, September 8.
WPC's Preschool has openings for fall. Call the church at 838-3131 for information.
Pastor Emeritus Sunday will be Sunday, September 26. Our Pastor Emeritus Dick Rogers will preach at both 9 and 10:30 a.m
You May Become a “Special Needs” Mentor!
 Do you have a heart for children with “special needs?” We’ve four delightful children and youth who need mentoring
on Sunday mornings from 10:30-11:30 a.m.
· Time commitment is 1-2 Sundays per month.
· Training and shadowing current mentors is required to build a
relationship with each child.
· Parents provide support.
· Special curriculum especially for their learning capacity
coordinated with the class lesson.
· Openings for adults and youth mentors.
See how they grow. Children with “special needs” participate as the entire class learns about individual differences and how Christ
