Director of Music and Arts Ministry

Sara Solis has been attending WPC with her family for almost 4 years, and she is honored to be overseeing Arts and Music Ministry now. She brings with her 40 plus years of church music experience. Having been part of children's choirs, youth and adult bell choirs, youth folk choir, youth church musicals, several adult church choirs and praise teams, she brings a wide variety of musical knowledge and appreciation that fits nicely into the WPC landscape. One of her many goals is to help provide a worship experience that encompasses traditional as well as contemporary music.

As a classically trained singer, she found a deep love for opera at an early age and even performed in a professional opera company in Chicago so she could check that off her bucket list. She has also sung with numerous other choirs and ensembles, including the Northwest Indiana Symphony Chorus. Sara holds a Bachelor's Degree in Communication and Theatre Arts and has always loved all of the performing arts. She has extensive experience with theatre and knows that performing was her first true passion in life. She even started her own ecumenical theatre company, Unity Players, several years ago that she hopes to resurrect one day. Sara served as the Vocal & Music Director of the Kankakee Valley High School Theatre Department for 3 years and has also taught private vocal lessons to singers of all ages.

Sara's onstage performing has slowed way down with her taking on being "momager" to her three boys while they navigate through the entertainment industry as professional young actors. She feels that these experiences have grown her breadth of knowledge in both music and performing arts, and she is thankful for the many adventures her kids have caused her to go on.

Overall, she is just thrilled to be part of the WPC family and is eager to continue finding ways to create meaningful worship services and elevate the arts within our church and community.
